New Territory Parks & Facilities
The Club
The Club, located at 1200 Walker School Road, is our 18,000-square-foot recreation center that features a full-size basketball court, a fitness floor with new strength and cardio equipment, locker rooms, and meeting rooms available to rent. It also includes one of four seasonal community pools, a Tennis Pro Shop with eight lighted tennis courts, two pickleball courts, a playground, and a lighted multipurpose field. New Territory Parks & Recreation's Early Learning Preschool, youth leagues, adult leagues, fitness classes, and personal trainers are offered at this facility, with registrations ongoing.
The Club Hours
Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 12 - 6 p.m.
Access to The Club, pool, or tennis courts is available to all homeowners and renters (when authorized by the homeowner/landlord) in good standing with NTRCA and requires a Club membership. Membership Application materials may be submitted in person at the NTRCA office, or the items may be submitted via email to Receptionist@newterritory.org. Upon receipt of all required documents, your application will be processed within 1 - 2 business days. For questions about the Club membership, please call us at 281.565.0616.
West Sugar Land Little League also hosts their league at The Club's baseball field.
Ellis Creek Park
Ellis Creek Park, located at 6101 Homeward Way, offers our residents one of four seasonal pools, two classrooms that can be reserved, a pavilion available to rent, a playground with nearby restrooms, a sand volleyball court, two lighted tennis courts, lighted walking trails, and a pond with catch-and-release fishing. The park also conveniently sits on the northern part of Ellis Creek Pathway, which connects all of New Territory.
The available classrooms are situated on the second floor of the building, which is not staffed. To schedule a time to look at the rooms, please contact the Recreation Manager to make an appointment.
The pavilion has two charcoal grills and four tables but no electricity onsite. When renting the pavilion or classroom, please understand that your rental only includes the pavilion or room itself; the playground, restrooms, and open spaces are still available to the public.
Pecan Park West
Pecan Park West, located at 5506 Pecan Orchard Blvd., is one of our large community parks, centrally located within New Territory. It offers residents two pavilions, a gazebo, a playground with nearby restrooms, and a lake for catch-and-release fishing. It is conveniently situated on Ellis Creek Pathway, which connects all of New Territory.
The Pecan Park West Pavilion includes one bbq pit, four tables, and one outlet with four plugs. And while there are two pavilions at this park, please note that only one is available to rent, while the other stays open on a first-come, first-serve basis. And to access the nearby restrooms, you will need a Resident Key, which can be obtained by visiting the NTRCA Office at 6101 Homeward Way.
Pecan Park West also has a gazebo available to rent located on its own island across a small bridge and includes two outlets on the backside of the pavilion but no tables or bbq grills.
When renting a pavilion or gazebo, please understand that your rental only includes the pavilion or gazebo itself; the playground, restrooms, and open spaces are still available to the public.
Pecan Park East
Pecan Park East, located at 6000 Walkers Park, is one of our large community parks and sits across Ellis Creek from Pecan Park West. This park includes a playground, five picnic tables, and plenty of open space, but it does not have a pavilion. Restrooms are located across the pedestrian bridge at Pecan Park West. Pecan Park East is conveniently situated on Ellis Creek Path, which connects all of New Territory.
Cunningham Creek Park
Cunningham Creek Park, located at 300 Cunningham Creek Blvd., is one of our large community parks on New Territory's west side. It offers residents one of four seasonal pools, a seasonal splash pad, a playground with nearby restrooms, a pavilion available for rent, and two lighted tennis courts.
The pavilion includes two bbq grills, three covered picnic tables, and two outlets. When renting the pavilion, please understand that your rental only includes the pavilion itself; the playground, restrooms, uncovered picnic tables, and open spaces are still available to the public.
West Sugar Land Little League also hosts their league at the baseball field at Cunningham Creek Park.
Anderson Pool
Anderson Pool, located at 4910 New Territory Blvd., offers our residents one of four seasonal pools, which includes a baby pool, cabanas, and a slide. During the summer, lap swimming is available Monday - Friday from 8 - 10 a.m. for adults. During busy times, swimmers may have to share lanes or circle swim.
Sports Complex
New Territory's Sports Complex, located at 5300 New Territory Blvd., is home to our youth leagues, adult leagues, and offers field rentals for residents. It is also the site for our 4th of July Celebration, has a large pavilion available to rent, and a playground with nearby restrooms.
The pavilion includes two bbq grills, several tables, and four outlets. When renting the pavilion, please understand that your rental only includes the pavilion itself; the playground, restrooms, and fields are still available to the public.
West Sugar Land Little League also host their league at the baseball fields at the Sports Complex.
Veterans' Memorial Park
LCPL Garrett Gamble Veterans' Memorial Park, located at 4809 New Territory Blvd., is a community park on New Territory's west side. The park includes a large playground with nearby restrooms, a sand volleyball court, and a pavilion with two bbq grills, two outlets, and three picnic tables.
The pavilion is open on a first-come, first-served basis and only includes the pavilion. Please understand the playground, restroom, and volleyball court are still available to the public. And to access the restrooms, you will need a Resident Key, which can be obtained by visiting the NTRCA Office at 6101 Homeward Way.
Dog Park
New Territory's Dog Park is our newest park built in 2018! It includes water fountains, two bath stations, and a section for dogs 35 pounds and larger and another section for dogs under 35 pounds.
Please remember to access the Dog Park a Resident Key is required, which can be obtained at the NTRCA Office, located at 6101 Homeward Way, and requires a $30 refundable deposit.
It's also important to note that no (human) restrooms are available at this site; the nearest restroom is located down the road at Veterans' Park.
Please follow these General Rules so everyone can enjoy the park!
- USE OF THE PARK IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
- NTRCA is not responsible for any accidents or injuries to dogs or humans.
- The park is open from dawn to dusk.
- No more than 2 dogs per adult at a time.
- All dogs must have current rabies and all other vaccinations required by the City of Sugar Land.
- All dogs must be healthy, free from contagious diseases and parasites, and NOT IN HEAT.
- All dogs must have collars or harnesses with current vaccination tags.
- The collars cannot pinch, or be spiked/pronged.
- Dogs under 4 months of age are prohibited.
- All dogs must be leashed when entering and when leaving the park.
- Once inside of the fenced in area, dogs are NOT permitted to remain on a leash.
- All owners or handlers must have a leash for each dog while in the dog park.
- A 35lb weight limit shall be the cut-off between large and small dogs.
- Absolutely NO large dogs in the small dog area and/or small dogs in the large dog area.
- Any children under the age of 18 shall be accompanied by an adult who is accountable for the behavior and well-being of the child.
- Children should be discouraged from approaching or playing with unfamiliar dogs.
- No food (human or dog) is permitted in the park.
- Aggressive dogs are not allowed.
- Dogs that show aggressive behavior must be leashed and removed immediately from the park.
- Dogs are not permitted to dig holes, and accidental holes must be filled in by the guardian.
- Dog waste must be picked up and disposed of properly.
